The Lambinet Museum
To discover the history of the city of Versailles, this is the museum to visit. Opened in 1932 and renovated in December 2020, it is housed in an 18th-century private mansion. Here, you can learn more about life in Versailles in the 18th century and the French Revolution through its collections.
The King’s Kitchen Garden
Covering 9 hectares, this kitchen garden was built at the request of Louis XIV between 1678 and 1683 and is still in operation today. You can discover the layouts designed by Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie and purchase fresh produce from the shop.
Notre-Dame Market
Named the “most beautiful market in the Île-de-France region,” it has welcomed local merchants at the same location since the 17th century. Just as at the Cour des Senteurs, your senses will be awakened by a vibrant mix of colors and flavors.
Swiss Water Basin
Do you enjoy walks and picnics? This area was created between 1679 and 1682 by a regiment of Swiss Guards. You will also find a copy of a work by Bernini: the sculpture of Louis XIV on horseback.
