The history of the Savonnerie Royale

Created in 2016 in Versailles, La Savonnerie Royale is much more than just a cosmetics house. Founded by Christine Vasse, a member of the Société des Amis de Versailles, the brand embodies French elegance, drawing its inspiration from French history, castles, royal traditions and Provençal craftsmanship.

A passion born of three influences

The genesis of La Savonnerie Royale rests on three founding pillars:

1. A childhood steeped in Marseille soap, rooted in the DNA of its native region;
2. A deep passion for French history and its great figures;
3. A particular attachment to chateaux, especially Versailles, the jewel of France's heritage.

It's this alchemy of tradition, culture and refinement that has given birth to a house unique in the world of cosmetics and well-being.

A house rooted in Versailles

Located at 6 rue de la Paroisse, 78000 Versailles, La Savonnerie Royale operates in a symbolic setting, just a stone's throw from the château that inspired its identity. Inspired by the majestic Bassin de Neptune in the gardens of the Château de Versailles, the collection pays tribute to this 18th-century masterpiece, a symbol of refinement and freshness.
 Like the basin, which celebrates the god of the seas through its spectacular fountains and sculptures, our line of natural solid soaps, refillable liquid soaps, candles and diffusers evokes an elegant stroll through the royal gardens.

The fragrance, created in Grasse, combines marine and citrus notes in a nod to the château's Orangerie with subtle accords of amber, cedar and lily of the valley, for a fresh, enveloping olfactory experience. Dressed in royal blue and gold, the “Bassin de Neptune” collection embodies the French art of living, between heritage, nature and elegance.

Olfactory creations inspired by history

La Savonnerie Royale fragrances are designed in Grasse, the world capital of perfume, with refined compositions evoking the royal world. Emblematic fragrances include :

Each creation pays homage to a part of the past, transforming the act of washing or perfuming one's home into a royal sensory experience.

A prestigious collaboration with the Château de Versailles

One of the brand's proudest achievements is its official collaboration with the Château de Versailles, with whom it has designed an exclusive range inspired by French history. This partnership legitimizes the brand's desire to bring to life an art of living inspired by the royal era, through everyday objects.

A responsible approach

La Savonnerie Royale is also a forward-looking company. It makes a point of respecting nature, craftsmanship and transparency:

- Soaps that are 96.9% natural, with the remainder used solely for fragrances;
- Manufactured in Haute-Provence, in the tradition of Marseille soap;
- Packaging made in France to FSC standards, recycled or from sustainably managed forests;
This eco-responsible approach is consistent with the values of French heritage: excellence, beauty, sustainability.
